The DSM-5, or the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders", and the ICD-10, or the "International Classification of Diseases", both define the term, mental disorder, as "a syndrome characterized by clinically significant disturbance in an individual's cognition, emotion regulation, or behavior that reflects a dysfunction in the psychological, biological, or developmental processes underlying mental functioning". Since the coined term, Delbruk identified and discussed five case studies in relation to mythomania. This was so bizarre to Delbruck that he coined this behaviour as "pseudologia fantastica".
