Liberty gets captured on purpose and is taken to Fuzzy Buddies where she comforts and rescues Chase.īack to Adventure City HQ, Ryder takes Chase to a street crossing intersection where he saved Chase's life when he was younger and explains he chose to save him because he was "the bravest pup he ever met." A reassured Chase accepts to resume his duties. While searching for Chase, Liberty and Ryder discover that numerous dogs have gone missing and link them to Humdinger. Chase runs away and is kidnapped by Humdinger's henchmen, who take him to Fuzzy Buddies obedience school-turned- dog pound.
Ryder suggests Chase should take a break from his duties but a heartbroken Chase accuses him of breaking his trust and giving up on him when things get difficult. The team saves the passengers, but Chase freezes out of fear in the process and has to be saved by Skye.
The following day, an extension to the subway line built by Humdinger breaks down and leaves the passengers trapped. The PAW Patrol is alerted and takes control of the situation but Chase is left distressed after he fails to save some people, which are in turn saved by Marshall. Humdinger uses a device called the Cloud Catcher to clear up the weather so he can do his firework show, but the show goes haywire. The team settles in their new Adventure City headquarters after Ryder convinces Chase to go. However, Chase refuses to go as he is traumatized by a past incident involving the city.

Development for the feature film based on PAW Patrol television series began in February 2020, with Brunker attached to direct, and Barlen and Frolick attached to write the screenplay. In the film, Ryder and the PAW Patrol pups are called to Adventure City to stop the recently-elected Mayor Humdinger from turning the bustling metropolis into a state of chaos to face the challenge in order to save its citizens. They are joined by Iain Armitage, Marsai Martin, Yara Shahidi, Kim Kardashian, Randall Park, Dax Shepard, Jimmy Kimmel, Tyler Perry, and introducing Will Brisbin in his film debut as Ryder. Several cast members from the main series reprised their roles, including Kingsley Marshall (voicing Marshall), Keegan Hedley (voicing Rubble), Shayle Simons (voicing Zuma), Lilly Bartlam (voicing Skye), and Ron Pardo (voicing both Cap'n Turbot and Mayor Humdinger).
